世界自然遺産の知床より。フレペの滝だけど滝が入らなかった。

この滝には川がなく知床連山に降った雪と雨が地下に浸透し、垂直に切り立った約100mの断崖の割れ目から流れ落ちています。ホロホロと流れ落ちるさまが涙に似ていることから、「乙女の涙」と言われている。
It is Shiretoko of world natural heritage.
Near Utoro lighthouse, we have a vertical precipice. And the origin of the Furepe waterfall is this place. It is about 100m high, and the clean water falls from the crevice of the precipice toward the surface. The streaming situation reminds us of tears, therefore it is nicknamed “OTOME-NO-NAMIDA". When we put the nickname into English, it is expressed "Girl's tears". The nickname is very popular in our town.
